Theodore Roosevelt Island

Theodore Roosevelt Island is an oasis of green across the river from an interstate highway and beneath the planes departing National Airport. Despite the unusual and sometimes noisy setting the island is a delightful place to walk around and see some wildlife. Be on the lookout for turtles, lizards, birds and fish.
